Compost Piles

Posted on | February 24, 2010 | No Comments

I’ve been looking into companies that provide Dallas Landscaping but use organic compounds…  Ironically, what I ended up discovering was that I would rather do the landscaping myself and pay someone else to do the Stonework. I stumbled accross Complete Outdoor Concepts and they do Landscaping but they specialize in Dallas Outdoor Kitchens, Stonework and Arbors. What I came to realize is that it’s unlikely that I’m going to drive a cement truck, or carry the 12″ x 12″ beams for my arbor…  not by myself at least…  so it made more sense to pay people…  professionals to do the heavy lifting so to speak and then I could focus on the design of the landscape around the stonework.

I also came to that conclusion when I realized that there’s no better way to be organic than to have a compost pile and recycle my food waste. Now, I really have my eye on a compost tumbler. I think it’s awesome to take advantage of grass clippings, hedge trimmings and tree trimmings to assist in the best mulch and fertilizer in the world. Take those items and combine it with food waste (like bannana peels, orange peels, bean shells, onion shells, coffee grounds, as well as other fruits and vegetables) and you have great fertilizer for your garden. There are worm composters that allow you to decompose meat quickly as well…. so if you’re raising chickens, you can decompose the meat waste with worms, feed the worms to the chickens and use the fertilizer from the worm compost (and the chicken waste) for your garden. It’s really natural and simple when you think about it.

Ironically, people are getting back to raising chickens as well. They’re very efficient producers of food and they’re waste is great fertilizer…  we’re also amazed at the number of chicken coops and chicken coop plans that are storming the market as well. People are getting back to nature and we think it’s a good thing (which is why we’re getting into home composting as a main topic for this blog!)

One day I heard my daughter talking about crossbows to her brother and I thought they were discussing a toy. Then after a few hours I understood that my daughter wanted a crossbow to play with and was pestering her brother to make her one. He had refused and she came to me. I told her that I would buy one for her if she wanted but I couldn’t build one as I didn’t know how to do it in the first place. She told me that her friend’s father had built one and so I should also know how to build one.

The next day she came back running to me and telling that she got the plans to make a crossbow from her friend’s father and asked me to build it now as she got the plans for it. I promised her that I would build one for her that night and convinced her. That night both of us sat together and started working on it and my husband looked at the crossbow with awe after it was done because it looked very good and I was glad I got the plans because it made things much simpler.

Make your crossbow and get rid of boredom

We were six friends and during the weekends we always used to meet at Peter’s house and all of us liked to play there because his parents were very lenient and would let us play and whatever noise we made, they would never tell us anything. One day we were all bored having played all the games, we tried some computer games, but that too was boring, and looking at our faces, Peter’s father had a splendid idea. He gave us the link of this site and told us to browse and see if we could something interesting. What we saw was amazing because there was a site that helped you make your own crossbow and we thought we would go ahead with that.

At last after much reading and surfing, we collected all the materials and after a gap of three days the crossbows were ready and when we finally started playing with it, we had a superb time and we were very excited. Peter’s parents were also glad that we were able to make the crossbow and said he was proud of us. We thanked Peter’s father for giving us such a wonderful idea and we told him we would do many more interesting things in the future.

Make medieval crossbow on your own

One day I had gone to Sam’s house who is my classmate as I had some notes to copy. When I went there, I saw Sam playing with crossbows and I really liked it a lot. I asked Sam how he got them and he said that his father had got them from the store. I asked him if I could play with it. At first, Sam gave me the crossbow to play, but after some time, he took it from me and said he wanted to play with it and asked me to purchase new crossbows if I wanted to play. I was very sad hearing this.

I quickly completed my notes and went home and at once told my father that I wanted a crossbow. My father never really understood what it meant, but an instinct told him to browse the net, and when he finally did so, he saw this wonderful site on how to make medieval crossbow and how to make them on your own. At first he never told me anything, it was only after he had finished did he tell me that he actually made crossbows and I was surprised and happy because I could play in my house on my own instead of going to Sam’s house.

Benefits of natural pest repellants

Posted on | July 29, 2009 | No Comments

When organizing your organic garden, utmost care should be taken to protect your garden from pests which can easily damage your hard work within a few hours. So, always use pest repellants to protect your plants. There are many natural pest repellants to prevent ants from damaging your plants as natural pesticide is less expensive than the pesticides bought from market. Like the saying, Prevention is better than cure; prevent pests from entering your garden than applying pesticides after the damage is done. Therefore to maintain a healthy garden, look after them with great care by utilizing manures and pesticides in the proper way.

Here are some natural pest repellants. Clean your garden of any weeds as they may be breeding places for insects. Pull out the weak plants as they may already be infected. Using natural fertilizers are best for healthy plants. Rotate crops each year as this would prevent pest from reentering your garden once again. You should water your plants early such that the plants remain dry for most of the day because if the leaves are wet, insects would breed easily. Always water the roots without spilling water on the leaves. Finally, if you have working with infected plants, always clean the tools properly for healthy growing of plants.

Crossbows in the village

Posted on | July 19, 2009 | No Comments

Once my son had gone to the village to stay with his grandparents and his cousins to spend his summer vacation. The children had so much fun there and they often indulged in playing with crossbows there and they enjoyed a lot. As my son was living in the city, he had not played such games and it was thoroughly new for him, so he had a solid time there playing this game. Finally when it was time for him to return, he actually took some crossbows with him for him to play, but afterwards it broke and he was very unhappy.

Seeing my son’s frustration, I was thinking as to what to do as I did not know if any were available in the stores, but one day when I was browsing, I came across this site and I was really amazed because site explains everything on how to make a crossbow and I was very happy for my son. I then decided that I would make them for him and finally I succeeded in the process and actually made them on my own. When I showed it to my son, he thought his grandparents had come and they had got it for him, but when I showed him the site, he learnt that art by himself.

Use crossbow as they are ideal in tribal areas

Posted on | July 12, 2009 | No Comments

While I was serving as a captain in the army, I was posted in a tribal area bordering our nation where frequent terrorist attacks used to take place under the cover of the dark forest. When I took charge of the duty, I took an aerial survey of the full tribal area and came to understand that using crossbow as a weapon will be ideal in this type of areas. Immediately I called the soldiers and asked them whether they knew how to make a crossbow and for that half of them answered positively. I entrusted the task of teaching the other half about making a crossbow with the soldiers who knew it.

When I noticed, I came to realize that some soldiers were facing difficulty in making this weapon so I decided to teach them personally by collecting details of easy crossbow making methods. When I discussed about this with my immediate superior in my battalion, he told me that there were lots of websites providing information regarding this device and asked to me select this site which provides all the details free of cost. Through the system administrator in our camp, I got to the right site and now everyone in my battalion knows how to make crossbows without much strain.
